Creating artwork only using things from the earth was a bit weird to me. In my opinion its definitely outside the box. It was a challenge trying to create something that looked good. I mean I never go outside anyways, i’m always inside. I created something simple with leaves and a stick. First thing I did was create an outline with a stick I found in my front yard. I then took a bunch of leaves and put it over the heart outline. Lastly I took the stick I used for the ouline and placed it over the T. Next day it was gone. Its art that only lasts a tiny bit.
My most successful print was the soft kut lines. Even though I didn't have much time to learn about soft kut techniques I think I did a very good job. The tools used worked just like a pencil for me and I felt very comfortable with it. I didn't enjoy making a monoprint. I didn't like how messy it was, I didn't like that you could only pull one print. It just wasn't my favorite. In my opinion I think the prints I pulled are awful. If I were to make other print in the future I would not chose monoprinting.
Artist StatementI found this project to be very hard. At first I didn't know what to do, I looked online but didn't find anything that caught my eye. So I decided just to cut and see what would come out of it. It took a flower shape and I went along with it. It was frustrating to add color, every so often a petal would break. I kept moving with it though and I guess it looks like a flower. This is for sure the worst thing I've created in Art. I am not proud and I didn't achieve my goal
This art piece was made by Andrea, Noah, and myself. When we first started we were going for an 80's themed look. Slowly we started to realize that it wouldn't turn out that way, it looked more like space: hints, the name. I really enjoyed working with my group. Sure we went through some up and downs when we didn't agree on something but we made things work. If we ever did something that we didn't like we would simply just go over it with, so working with acrylic paint had its advantages. The final piece was definitely not how I imagined it but the end result turned out even better!
My pictures improved a lot from the first ones I took. My favorite was the second landscape, I used the golden spiral and cropping technique for the picture and I really liked how it turned out. My second favorite was the second portrait I took. For this one I used the rule of thirds.
I liked how all of them turned out. Now I can take semi good pictures. :) Artist StatementI call this Beauty in the sunset. They all connect because the sunset is alike in all of them; I used the same color scheme for all of them. Yellows, oranges, reds, and pinks for the sunset. Blues, Purples, grays and the color black for the mountains/land. I choose to use watercolor pencils because that's what I'm most conformable with.I also just know more techniques with watercolor pencils, like overlapping colors to make them blend. My inspiration came from different pictures from the internet. Even the word Naturescape inspired me, it helped my imagination.
My goal throughout this whole process was to be able explore different media while creating something that I liked. This was practice for me, I learned for my mistakes and hopefully this helps me with future projects. Artist StatementThe first thing I thought when I saw this ink splat was a butterfly. I used the lines from the ink splat to create patterns in the wings. I used greens and blues for the background and red and yellows for the wings. My inspiration came from different butterfly pictures I saw in books. The butterfly I created is unique and I really like how it turned out.
